UK CEED is delighted to announce that Joan Ruddock MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the new Department of Energy and Climate Change, is to make a keynote address at UK CEED’s National Energy Efficiency Awards Gala Dinner.
The Minister has responsibility for leading government action on delivering a low carbon economy and ensuring secure and affordable energy supply – with a focus on energy consumers.
The National Energy Efficiency Awards were conceived and launched by UK CEED three years ago and have been sponsored each year by EDF Energy. This year a record 170 entries were received covering an exceptional breadth of projects ranging from voluntary and community groups through to FTSE 100 companies.
After a challenging judging process, the entries have been whittled down to 42 finalists. The winners are to be announced at a prestigious awards dinner attended by 190 invited guests at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on 2nd December. Details of the winners will appear in a special supplement being published in the Independent newspaper on 8th December.
